Managing your hair all over everything

I have really long hair and I tend to find it in everything. All in my bed, my vacume, the laundry, so on so on. It is a joke about who has more hair on the floor, me or the three dogs. My hair is thick and long but is all over. I vacume often and then use small sizzers to cut the hair off. I clean out the drain in my shower and have to shake outtowls as they come out of the drier. Do any of you have this same issue? What have you found helps. I do sometimes put my hair up but I like to have it down a lot too.

Ugh, I have this problem quite a bit, especially when I lived in a small dorm room. My hair was also a bit longer then than it is now. I haven't really found many ways around it other than vacuuming often and trying not to brush or style my hair anywhere near my bed or clothing. At least if most of it ends up on my bathroom floor it's easy enough to vacuum up.

Ah yes, girls with hair. Smile.
Okay, here is a point of view from the man said after a visit.
1. Did you know if you wash and condition your hair with a quality product, and oil your scalp, it won't come out as much?
Next, get yourself a hand vacuum. Dirt Devil, has one that is low priced, and just vac some over stuff with it. It will get that lovely fall.
Vacum not only your carpet ares, but also the hard floors. It is just faster to vac hair then to sweep it.
Don't wet it! I learned this the hard way. Before you mop, or clean your bathroom, or whatever, vac first. When you wet it, it stays until it dries. It is just harder to get up.
Last, if you aren't washing it, when you shower, get one of these shower caps, or when you bath. You put your hair in there, and you don't get any in the tub. After you wash it, just let your tub dry, vac it, than clean it, or the shower floor.
Cooking, tie it back. Not only is that safer, because you don't want it catching on fire by accident, you won't serve it in your dishes. They have some really pretty ties for women. A pack cost around 2 bucks depending on what you like. If you don't want to buy them, anything will work, like the trash bag twist ties, or that you get on electric stuff. Lol. You could even get the velco wire ties, but get some pretty ones.
I love women with hair, but it seems that even short hair will stay after she has gone home. Smile.

I forgot.
For the bath or shower drain, there is a plastic tool you insert in the drain and pull it out after you turn it. It cleans the hair out pretty good if you don't know how to remove the drain cover.
I don't remember what it is called, so maybe do a search for it. I just remove the cover and clean it.

Good stuff, Wayne!

I have this problem too. Thought it was just me. I love my long hair though.

Because I value the Chick's hair, and my time to play with it, I will never ever complain if there is some for me to gather all sopping wet from the shower or if a piece ends up in the food and I throw it away. Because hers is precious. Mine just a haystack. But yes I had a mullet when I was younger, ultimately got rid of my last tail about 6 years ago, and now since I'm with the Coast Guard I'll never have another tail. Don't really miss it though.

that's wonderful, Lio. I hhad this problem too, but now I have my hair very very short so it's not as much as before. But what I usually did is dust my bed, vacume and clean the bamboo flor and when I'm in the kitchenough or in the dining room I usually tie my hair. Wayne, you brought many great points, I liked the one about the shower, lol

I'm just too emotionally attached to my hair--and so, I think, is my partner--so that no matter how much I shed, I don't think I could ever cut it off just for that reason.

It is said that hair is a woman's glory. If you are blessed, fortunit, or whatever you call it, to have it, please, don't cut it off.
Trimm the ends, take care of it, and let your lover play with it, but don't butcher it.
It is nature, and if a woman doesn't have some sort of sickness, or suffers from an unusual case of baldness, their hair stays with them for life.
Men aren't like that.

I do use a shower cap in the shower when i am not washing my hair. I also comb my hair before getting in the shower too so this helps some.
I only comb and brush my hair in my bathrrom but it goes where I go no matter what I do. It's not that bad in my bed but it is there. It is mostly in my bathroom and I do sweep my bathroom a lot. I don't have a vacume that goes over tial. I am planning to get a new one soon though.

I don't have to trim my hair but I do about once a year. My hair is really healthy and what is called vergin hair. I never have died, colored, bleached, permed or anything to it. I don't get dead ends or split ends. The last time i had gone to trim it was back in December and they said that I didn't need it but to straiten it up. i hadn't gone for a couple of years before that. I do love my hair and don't plan to cut it. I might think about it when it is having its moments and driving me nutts but I wouldn't.

Post 12 by Meglet (I just keep on posting!) on Monday, 24-Jun-2013 20:17:53

I went to get it trimmed the other day, just to get rid of some split ends, and the hair dresser took off a good deal more than she was supposed to; I was nearly tearful, irrational as that is, when I felt how much was gone.

You have to let the hairdress know to cut as little as possible.
Also, I'd ask for suggestions on products that keep your hair from falling out.
Not a perm, but some oil, shampoos, that sort of thing. They really make a difference.
Yes, get a hand vac, or one with a hose, and you'll do good. Smile.

My hair doesn't fall out more than normal. It just goes all over when it does.

I actually told them to cut off an inch and they only took off half of one. But yes, I have learned in the past to tell them how much to take off and then have them show you before cutting how much they are going to cut off and make it clear not to do more than that. They tend to get to excited when cutting and don't stop when you had wished them to. Some times I feel like they make a mistake and don't make it strait so they cut off more to fix it.

Post 15 by forereel (Just posting.) on Tuesday, 25-Jun-2013 20:52:07

Probably right.
If that happens often, you should change places. It grows back, but... Smile.

interesting topic and some good advice given by the posters in here and yeah some hair dressers can get side tracked like when they talk a lot to you and cut at the same time.
You have to be careful in the way you word things to the hair dresser because then they will cut more than you actually want them too.

Oh and nobody's hair is disgusting, unless it's unclean or something. Hair is hair, we all have it. I understand if you shed that it is a bother to you, and any normal compassionate human being would sympathize with whatever steps you have to take. But I'm usually surprised at how some people view some of their hair on the floor as disgusting. If it's dry I'll just grab a paper napkin so I can scoop it all up and throw it away. But I've just been surprised at the disgust some show at their own shedding of hair.

Post 18 by Meglet (I just keep on posting!) on Wednesday, 26-Jun-2013 11:56:40

I find it more irritating than anything. It's not gross, just a hastle.

Post 19 by redgirl34 (Scottish) on Wednesday, 26-Jun-2013 16:25:54

My har is quite long. I am thinking of gtting it cut because it hurts when I brush it and I end up pulling it out while brushing it. I think I have a sensative scalp. The doctor gave m some special shampoo to use. It worked for a while but doesn't now. Can people have a sensative scalp or is it just me?

Post 20 by Meglet (I just keep on posting!) on Wednesday, 26-Jun-2013 18:20:35

Oh, it's very possible that you do. Maybe try switching products?

Post 21 by forereel (Just posting.) on Wednesday, 26-Jun-2013 20:12:41

Even a different brush type? If you spray your hair with a de tangler before you brush it, that helps as well.
What you eat matters too. Smile. Hair is a part of the body, so much be kept healthy, just like skin, if you are going to have lots of it.
I don't have lots anymore, but when I have visitors, it isn't a hastle at all to clean up, and some don't leave lots behind either.
I find that women with hair that feels soft and moist, don't seem to shed as much as others that have dry and brittle feeling hair.
It doesn't have to be all that long either to be dropped. Shoulder length hair is just as difficult, if it falls, as waist length to clean up, it seems. I don't know.

agreed with the last poster and you can also get oily hair too which people have mentioned a lot to me and i have tried different shampoo's to help with it, even used conditioner as well.

Sensitive scalp is real, so don't question this. I don't have it, but the wife has said she does to some extent. Just massage your scalp or have your lover do it for you it feels good and it will help you. It's the head / hair version of getting a foot rub. When I massage hers, I just use hands as wide open as possible wrapped around as much head as possible so as to not pinch, then slowly knead and squeeze sort of feeling the loose skin / scalp that it is. Lol sometimes she will tell me not to because she has to do something that requires attention and it will make her too sleepy / groggy. So I guess, like they say, don't use when operating machinery or heavy equipment? lol I haven't had that type of a effect when I tried to do that to myself just her so it may be a sensitive scalp will get more of a benefit from that.
Just a thought.
And yeah shoulder-length hair can shed, it need not be long. Hers is shoulder length with tufts of fluff and curls at its ends.

I comb from the bottum up. I comb out that last few inches, then go up a bit then comb all that out to the ends, then go up a bit more and comb it all out and it works well. If you try to comb from the top to the bottom, the tangles get all bunched up right under your neck and then makes it harder to get it out.

I'll stick to my shorter hair. I don't try to make time to make it look fancy, never plan to dye it, and never plan to grow it out long. Long hair is sexy on a girl, but I've gotten plenty of pleasant attention from having short fluffy hair. A girl touches it then starts petting it like I'm a dog or something lol.

I've never had a shedding problem but my mom did. The hair ended up everywhere and what sucked is she didn't pull it back or anything when she cooked. There were a couple times when it would end up in the food she cooked. Gross.

woops how tasty, not, smiles.
I recently got my hair cut shorter and it has made a lot of difference but the only thing is my ends are dry even if I have washed my hair which I think is a bit strange.
A couple of times I have managed to eat my hair while eating my food which I wasn't aware I was doing but I did think it was funny, smiles.
